BALTIMORE ASK A PUNK is an online calendar for DIY Hardcore & punk shows in Baltimore to counter Facebook events and Instagram flyers. There are no ads, no algorithms, no tracking, no bullshit. We are run by punks in Baltimore accountable to punks in Baltimore.

We are proud to be part of the ASK A PUNK network of punk show calendars. BALTIMORE ASK A PUNK is part of the BMorePunk project. This project was inspired by the work of The Counterforce, please read their Manifesto for The Counterforce.

Adding a Show

A DIY calendar will only work, if you add your own DIY events. You can submit events anonymously. Anonymously submitted shows must be approved before they are listed, and you won't be able to edit/update them later. Ask a Punk is both a valid show location and address.

While we want to encourage and promote DIY events, shows taking place at more traditional venues are also permitted.

If you are going to be adding shows regularly, reach out to info@bmorepunk.social and we'll make you an account so that you can approve your own shows and update them as needed.

Also consider listing the link to https://baltimore.askapunk.net/ on your flyers. Let's kill Facebook events and Instagram flyers.

You can subscribe and share events listed here a variety of ways, using the SHARE button at the top. You can also follow the calendar directly from the Fediverse (i.e. BMorePunk.social) by following @shows@baltimore.askapunk.net.

Problems at an event

Reach out to moderation@bmorepunk.social if you have any concerns about an event. We're not asking for nor do we want snitches. We do want to make sure we are not promoting events where racism, sexism, queerphobia, ablism, or anti-black behavior are tolerated. Acting in a way that perpetuates oppression, including through language, is not acceptable.

We strongly encourage organizers of events to consider how to handle harassment, racism, sexual assault, and violence. We also encourage you to account for situations in which one of the fellow organizers or team members is the accused. It is far too easy to allow abusers to get away with abuse when plans have not been made and agreed to in advance.

Punk spaces should be safer for victims and more dangerous for abusers, and that only happens if we make it happen.
